I never really understood the deeper meaning of this until it was explained by a smarter man that I. The lone knight on patrol protecting the kingdom. A singular focus of what is in front of him. His mission is all that matters. Death creeping in the background, but he is not concerned with death. The devil behind him reaching out attempting to make him lose focus. The knight and horse appear almost contemptuous to his presence. They will uphold their oath to protect the kingdom! Death nor the Devil will stop them. They are protected by their armor of faith! This has not changed in 600 years!
Romans 13:4
For he is God's servant for your good, but if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear his sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer.
